Taicang is strategically located along the Yangtze River and adjacent to Shanghai, at the heart of the Yangtze River Delta. It is within a one-hour drive of Shanghai’s Zhangjiang Pharma Valley and Suzhou BioBAY. Six major railway lines converge here, with high-speed rail providing access to Shanghai Hongqiao Station in just over 20 minutes and to Shanghai East Station in 30 minutes in the near future.
Biomedicine has been established as a strategic industry in Taicang, attracting over 600 enterprises such as Joinn Laboratories and Connect Biopharmaceuticals. A complete industrial chain has taken shape, generating annual revenue exceeding RMB 30 billion.
Taicang Port, the leading foreign trade port along the Yangtze River, is also licensed for cosmetics import and export. In 2024, its cosmetics imports accounted for more than 60% of Jiangsu Province’s total, with global leaders including P&G and Henkel having established a presence in the city.
