Raimon Christiani leads IBM’s Global Travel & Transportation Industry Consulting Services and its Global Travel & Transportation Centre of Competence. Mr Christiani is responsible for driving global Travel & Transportation Industry Consulting and Services, Business Development and Strategy to help IBMs client to grow, transform through technology enablement, strive for productivity gain and innovate client’s services and products.
In this role, Mr. Christiani is responsible to provide Global Capabilities and Subject Matter Expertise to give Travel & Transport Industry clients greater access to the best of IBM skills and capabilities from across the globe and across the engagement lifecycles with clients. Under Mr Christiani’s leadership the Travel and Transportation Centre of Competence provides industry expertise, assets to high priority, strategic engagements in both major and growth markets. Within Mr Christiani’s group - unencumbered by national boundaries – Travel & Transportation clients have access to industry-focused, world-class senior executives in business transformation, along with assets and delivery capabilities harvested from global engagements.
Previously Mr Christiani has held a number of leadership positions at IBM’s Global Business Consulting Services unit and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Consulting where he headed the Customer Relationship Management Consulting Group for Travel & Transport in Central Europe. Within the European Travel & Transportation Industry he held industry positions as a Distribution & Customer Services Sales Director at LTU International Airways and Group, SWISSAIR Group, REWE Touristic Group as well as at Hapag-Lloyd Business Travel and at Destination Management Services Companies in Asia Pacific.
Mr. Christiani is a member of IBM’s Industry Academy, which is by nomination only and confirmation by IBM Senior Leadership team and sponsored by Ginni Rometty, IBM President, CEO and Chairman. IBM Industry Academy Members are recognized as the top industry leaders in IBM. Industry Academy members are helping to define the industry strategy in IBM growth markets, and developing game-changing, cross-industry solutions for clients. He also represents IBM as the Senior Mobility and Smarter Transportation Advisor for the Swiss Business Federation “economiesuisse”. He also serves as an appointed Advisor for the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) for IBM.
For the 2017 G7 Transport Minister Meeting in Italy, Sardegna, Mr. Christiani has been invited asked to deliver a speech and share Point of View as to how newer Technologies and predictions like Blockchain, Artificial-Cognitive Solutions and Intelligence will further and transform the Travel & Transportation Industry. Amongst other Thought Leadership contribution, i.e. in Forbes, Mr Christiani co-authored IBM’s Institute of Business Value Studies and White Papers i.e. “Committed customers or captives, The Millennial Monsoon, Travel Loyalty - Discount discontents and “Capitalizing on Complexity”: a report that details how Travel & Transportation Executives are responding to a competitive and economic environment.
Mr Christiani holds a certified Travel Management Consultant degree and is an Alumni of the INSEAD Executive Business School in Fontainebleau, France and the IMD – International Institute of Management Development Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.
